English: 4 units
intensive reading & writing experience

  • ENGL 1010- Expository Writing I
  • ENGL 1020- Expository Writing II
  • ENGL 2060- 20th Century Fiction

Foreign Language: 2 units
in one language

  • FREN 1020 French II (some students may need to complete FREN 1010 to prepare for FREN 1020; 1020 is the course which will fulfill the UNL admission deficiency).
  • SPAN 1020 Beginning Spanish (some students may need to complete SPAN 1010 to prepare for SPAN 1020; 1020 is the course which will fulfill the UNL admission deficiency)

Mathematics: 4 units
Algebra I
Geometry

Algebra II

A fourth year that builds on algebra

  • Algebra I : MATH 0900 Elementary Algebra
  • Geometry: Not Available [Please contact UNL's Admissions Office regarding your options]
  • Algebra II: MATH 1010 Intermediate Algebra
  • Fourth Year Math (course that builds upon Algebra II): MATH 1150-College Algebra

Natural Sciences: 3 units
At least 2 from biology, chemistry, physics & earth sciences.
At least one lab.

If you are deficient in a lab, you MUST take a science course that has a lab.

  • BIOS 1010 General Biology (has a lab)
  • BIOS/FACS 1400 Intro to Nutrition (does not have a lab)
  • CHEM 1050 Survey of Chemistry I (has a lab)
  • CHEM 1090 General Chemistry (has a lab)
  • GEOG 1010 Physical Geology (does not have a lab)
  • GEOG 1050 Physical Geography (has a lab)
  • PHYS 1100 Physical Science (has a lab)
  • PHYS 1150 Descriptive Physics (has a lab)
  • PHYS 1410 General Physics I (has a lab)

Social Sciences: 3 units
One or 2 units History AND 1 or 2 units American government, geography or one other social science

  • GEOG 1400 Cultural Geography
  • HIST 1000 Western Civilization I to 1715
  • HIST 1010 Western Civilization II after 1715
  • HIST 2010 American History I to 1877
  • HIST 2020 American History II after 1877
  • POLS 1000 American Government and Politics
  • POLS 1600 International Relations
  • SOCI 1120 Intro to Anthropology
  • SOCI 1530 Introduction to Sociology
  • SOCI 2010 Social Problems
  • SOCI 2250 Marriage and Family Relationships
