PROGRAM DEFINITION
Creative.exciting.challenging.ever-changing: interior design is a creative profession working for the benefit of the individual and society. Using a combination of art, psychology and science, interior design adds to our quality of life.
NEBRASKA POINTS OF DISTINCTION
• Recognized as one of the top interior design programs in the U.S. and North America
• Fully accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA)
• Internship experiences are available coast to coast with many of the major interior design and architecture firms
• Students in interior design and architecture share many of the same courses and opportunities for extra- curricular activities, providing broad exposure to a related field
FACILITIES
The Interior Design Program is housed in the award-winning Architecture Hall, one of the oldest and yet most up-to-date buildings on campus. Beginning in your third year, you will be provided with an individualized work space within Architecture Hall and with ready access to its resources. Architecture Hall contains:
• A branch library
• A gallery
• Computer labs
• A media center
• A fully equipped shop
• A photography laboratory
• Fully wired studio space and classrooms
PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS (What’s expected of you as an undergraduate student)
• Maintain a 2.6 cumulative GPA to remain in good academic standing in the College
• Participate in design studios each semester during four years of study
• Gain internship experience for academic credit, a significant part of the program
