For full scholarship consideration:
- Take the ACT or SAT on or before the December national test date of your senior year
- Submit admission materials no later than January 15
- Individuals who wish to be considered for need-based scholarships must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA, fafsa.ed.gov) before April 1 of your senior year
- Contact your UNL academic department or college about any additional scholarship requirements, applications, and/or deadlines
GENERAL SCHOLARSHIPS
Out-of-state students will automatically be considered for the following merit-based scholarships by applying for admission. Qualifying students may only be awarded ONE of the following:
- Chancellor’s Scholarship
Students who are finalists in nationally recognized scholarship competitions (e.g. National Merit Scholarship) are eligible for consideration for full tuition coverage plus a $2,000 stipend annually (Scholarship is applicable for up to four years with three inclusive summers.) - George Beadle Scholarship
$11,154 per year up to 135 credit hours or completion of degree, whichever comes first (based on 30 credit hours per year, adjusts with credit hours taken and future tuition changes). Students enrolled and complete the IB curriculum and score a minimum of 27 on the ACT or its equivalent on the SAT are eligible for $11,154 per year up to 135 credit hours or completion of a degree, whichever happens first. - Nebraska Legacy Scholarship
Must be a child of an alumnus for consideration. $11,154 or $5,578 per year up to 135 credit hours or completion of degree, whichever comes first (based on 30 credit hours per year, adjusts with credit hours taken and future tuition changes). Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP) Scholarships are awarded to academically qualified students from Minnesota, Michigan, Missouri, Kansas, North Dakota, or Wisconsin who exhibit superior academic performance. A MSEP student pays 150 percent of the institution's regular resident tuition plus any required fees. When meeting the annual renewal criteria, the scholarship is applicable for up to 135 credit hours or the completion of a bachelor's degree, whichever occurs first. This scholarship is valued at $8,324 for the 2009-2010 academic years (based on 30 credit hours per year, adjusts with credit hours taken and future tuition changes). LEADERSHIP & SPECIALTY AWARDS
The following scholarship may require an additional application. Please note application deadlines.
- Jeffrey S. Raikes School of Computer Science & Management Scholarship
May include the following: room, board and books (through the Honors Program Textbook Scholarship). Application is due no later than November 15 and can be found at: wam.unl.edu - David Distinguished Scholarship
$1,000 per year, renewable up to four years - Honors Program Scholarship
A limited number of Textbook Scholarships in the amount of $250 per semester, fall and spring semesters only, for up to 135 credit hours, four years, or the completion of a bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first. This scholarship requires the completion of an additional application. - Chancellor's Leadership Class Scholarship
$1,000 freshman year only. Awards will be made in late February. This scholarship requires the Résumé form. - University Bookstore Scholarship
Amount varies, freshman year only. This scholarship requires the Résumé form.
