2024 Important Dates and Deadlines

Date	Description
February 1	Deadline Supplemental Scholarship Application (in-state and out-of-state) must be submitted by this date to be considered for departmental scholarships. If you applied for admission by November 1 and wish to receive a full comprehensive scholarship notification on February 1, we encourage you to submit the supplemental Scholarship Application well in advance of the February 1 deadline.
February	Out-of-state fall transfer scholarship notifications begin.
March 1	Deadline In-state academic scholarship consideration closes for fall transfer students. Students must be admitted before this date to be considered.
March	In-state fall transfer scholarship notifications begin.
April 2	New Student Enrollment (NSE) orientation, advising and course registration processes become available to deposited fall 2024 transfer students.
Late April	New Student Enrollment (NSE) advising appointments begin for fall 2024.
May 15	Deadline Fall 2024 admission application and enrollment deposit. (Note: Extended from May 1) Deadline Out-of-state academic scholarship consideration closes for fall transfer students. Students must be admitted before this date to be considered. (Note: Extended from May 1) Priority Deadline Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. (Note: Extended from May 1) The University of Nebraska–Lincoln's federal FAFSA code is 002565. Students who qualify for the Nebraska Promise have until June 1.
June 1	Online Orientation opens. (Required for all new transfer students.)
July 25 August 1	New Student Enrollment Transfer In-Person Orientation. (Optional for transfer students.)
August 18-21	On-Campus Housing Move-In. (Optional for transfer students.)
August 21-25	Big Red Welcome campus events kick off your Husker experience, including a Tunnel Walk, class photo and Street Festival.
August 26	First day of fall courses.

Date	Description
August 1	Nebraska's fall 2024 application for admission opens. View admission requirements.
November 1	Housing Contract opens in MyRED for admitted fall 2024 transfer students who have submitted enrollment deposits. (Optional for transfer students.) View fall housing information. For those who pay or defer the enrollment deposit after this date, access is granted within 24 hours after payment or deferral.
Late December	File the 24-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form when it becomes available to apply for financial aid. The University of Nebraska–Lincoln's federal FAFSA code is 002565. Financial aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
